WOW. The Cascade Coffeehouse crew is fantastic! I was called up last-minute for the Coffeehouse gig last night but couldn't refuse my fellow musician Michael Carlos. I gathered up a full 2 hours of music, mostly originals (including one never-before-performed!) with several of my favorite covers. We had a little open mic to start the night - including music from my good friends Brady and Colin and a family friend, Peggy, reading poetry. An old classmate, friend, and artist, Ryan, joined me on stage to paint a canvas while I performed (I love that and think we'll make it a regular addition to my shows!). It was so nice to have so many friends and family in the audience, and what a good audience it was! They were so polite and attentive, and even laughed at all the right times. :) I've been invited back to the Coffeehouse next year and definitely look forward to it!

I had a great time in Wenatchee last weekend. It was the first Friday of the month, which meant an open mic at Caffe Mela. This was the first time I'd been able to make it, but I'm so glad I did! I saw a few old friends and met a couple new ones. It was the perfect place to meet other local musicians and share the art with one another. Unfortunately, Marcus couldn't play with me, but thank you especially to Jayleen, Heather, Colin, Alyx, Nick, and Dad for coming!
More great news: I think I now have a full band to really get some alternative rock going! :) More info soon!

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day! I was inspired last night when at our late dinner... There was a man performing solo at the restaurant, his voice and his guitar. It wasn't too elaborate, but it was just perfect. I believe every restaurant and coffeeshop should host live music regularly. Music just makes food taste better.
